have been doing ebay.
had to mail out a cheap Lincoln Penny
put on 66 cents for hand stamping so it would not jam machine.
that is what prior the postal clerk.

this cleak said I had to mail as a package for 2.07 !!
ANYONE ELSE have a problem ?
what can I tell clerk ?

Yep. Over a certain thinkness it goes as a package.

Hummm, I've been receiving slabs in padded envelopes for around a buck shipping across the country.

Sounds like you've encountered an uninformed postal employee.

Mail it as a letter - but first, sandwich it in cardstock with staples. That way, it won't shift and it won't obviously be a coin.

Anything in a padded envelope is technically a package. If you pay for postage outside the post office, like with paypal, most likely you can get away with using just first class. If there is "one of those" types of employees at the receiving post office, it could end up postage due.

Or, as others have mentioned, grab an old cereal box from the recycle bin and make inserts for a business envelope.

Using a padded envelope it's only $1.69 up to 3 oz with ebay shipping.
