I'm having to sell my silver dollar collection because of financial problems. This is the last thing I wanted to do. I've heard that eBayers are willing to pay 33 an ounce. Does this go for polished ones? I have 32 I'm selling that are all polished. What's the highest price range that I can get out of a collection like this?

The collection is 32 Morgan dollars. I believe all to be common dates.

you can check completed auction prices on ebay to get an idea for average prices paid for polished common date silver dollars. I would guess they would bring 22 to 25 each. The fees for ebay and paypal would be around 9 percent from what I hear. You could try to sell them on here for silver bullion prices. Probably get about the same net amount.

If you can sell at a coin shop locally I would do that. I just had to sell off about 35 ounces because my car broke. You might get more for each coin on ebay but with seller fees, paypal fees, and having to deal with paypal and the chance of a bad buyer it was just easier for me to go to the LCS. I really hate paypal, they make things difficult for honest sellers.

If they've been cleaned (polished) don't expect more than bullion value. With the silver spot currently at about $20.55 that means a silver dollar is worth about $16.00.

It might have been posted here but did anyone read the story about the guy who bought a car with like $25,000 in silver quarters? He flew to get it and talks about taking the bag of quarters through security. lol

If they don't sell here I would suggest ebay, with free shipping. Every silver dollar I see seems to bring at least $25 and after fees and postage you should still clear over $20 for each. It's a chore to list, package and mail all that stuff, need to figure that in, much easier to sell it as a lot to one person. And don't forget craig's list, lots of preppers buying silver but be sure to meet in a public place. Rick
