1952 Nickel, Tell Me What You Know :)

Alistriwen New Member Canada 3 Posts	Posted 08/15/2013 03:04 am Hey all, new to the forum. I just received this nickel in some change today at work randomly and it stuck out to me right away. Probably because it had the jagged edges :p. Anyways, it's in really good condition, the pictures don't really do it justice but I was wondering if anyone could tell me about it, if it has any value etc. The discolouration on the beaver side does not actually exist in reality but that was the clearest picture I got. The king side discolouration is much more evident in the picture than it is in reality though. The coin hold a lot of shine to it in person, but of dozens of pictures these were the best I got. All of the details are crystal clear and the only real flaws are a small scratch on the beaver and two really faint lines on the king. Alistriwen New Member Canada 3 Posts	Posted 08/15/2013 11:43 am The pictures really make the coin look a lot worse than it is. All of the little lines that appear on the coin in the picture aren't there in real life but thanks for the tip :). The coin is in good enough condition you can still see the individual hairs on the king's head in person. I also read that they can be more valuable if they are not chrome plated and that the chrome plated ones look blue. This coin doesn't have any blue to it at all. Would that make it more valuable? There is a much larger coin collection I inherited from my grandmother with much more interesting stuff. I was just kind of hoping I'd miraculously come upon something valuable in my change at work.
