Help With Silver Coins

Don't necessarily write off ebay as a possible venue for eventually selling them. Yes, there are fees to pay - as there is every other auction site of any note - and eBays are not exorbitant when compared to others - and you have a world wide potential customer base. Just have suitable expectations.

If eBays fees were that bad nobody would sell there but the amount of coins listed there just proves the opposite.

Get a Red Book and look up the values. Add up what the whole thing is worth. Use MS63.

How much did you get.$1000? $5000?

Now realize this is full retail, if all the coins are mint state, and if all the coins are sold indivually.

I would say melt value (basically for the silver, not the collectible value of the coin) is the bottom end.

Now decide how much time you want to spend to go from one to the other. What is the difference between the two?

One way with moderate effort would be lots on ebay. Just be honest and don't call them "brand spanking new". Clear pictures work the best. Probably best to not offer a grade.

Dealer will lowball you big time. They are there to make money. Actually you can get a blue book, and that is what you can expect from a dealer more or less.
