I don't think that offering positive feedback only after the buyer has left positive feedback is right either. I know there are some pretty shifty buyers, but I look at it like this. Once the money has been exchanged, and the item purchased, hasn't the buyer already fulfilled his part of the transaction?

Personally, I leave feedback once I have shipped the item. I can see why others might want to wait until feedback has been received though.

As an example, lets say that you are shipping a low value item and the buyer doesn't want to pay for tracking or insurance. Lets also say that CP loses said item. If the seller does everything in his/her power to fix the problem and make the seller happy, and the buyler still leaves negative feedback, would you want that buyer to receive positive feedback from the seller? I wouldn't.

That is why I believe that if there is a dispute, then feedback should be suspended until a resolution is reached. ebay shouldn't be so hands free where this is concerned.

I have always left feedback after selling an item, and the buyer pays in a reasonable amount of time. I have had some buyers not give any feedback back to me, for whatever reason. I only send one reminder, and then forget about it, it's not worth the worry.

Normally I leave positive feedback right away after the payment is made. Sometimes I leave feedback while printing the invoice -- use it as a mark for myself, sometimes leave feedback when the item is shipped, but no later.
