People must've been napping. I bid on a eugenius fragment but lost it, but did get this for peanuts (under $5).

It looks a bit small for a double sestertius but thats the only size I could find with AVG in ex. Perhaps its a dupondius or something.

This type was struck in all three types. His double sestertius weight greater than 15 grams, his sestertius at about 15 grams, and the doupondius less than 15 grams. With the piece missing it's going to be a bit of a guess.

Sear identifies them as 'reduced' double sestertii. The noble attempt of Postumus to restore the old currency was doomed by one inescapable fact. Bad money chases out good. Postumus could issue 'good' silver but it surely disappeared as soon as it was circulated. No one with half a brain would spend the 'real one' and keep the Gallienus antoniniani. Same with the double Sestertii. They would not have lasted long with all the 'crap' coinage in circulation. Nice coin by the way !
