This is a beautiful looking coin. What does everyone think? It was being sold as Brilliant Uncirculated:

It doesn't look to me as in brilliant uncirculated condition. There is no mint patina and on the reverse the rim is chipped at 11 o'clock. There are many small scratches (bagmarks), but it is still a ms-unc in my opinion.

Can't tell if it's BRILLIANT unc either. But it does look unc with a bit of uneven strike.

Strato, Do you have any examples of Brilliant UNC verses not Brilliant that you could post so I can compare them? I would like to learn how to tell the difference.

Also, does anyone think it would grade as MS 63?

The coin does not look cleaned nor circulated
In fact it looks pasty on the background and looks like pencildrawn or a photo from the copy of a book at extreme mangification

There are three small spots on the obverse at 11-12-13 hours
If the photo was not manipulated and is of the real coin it would make MS63 but with all my observations I would not buy it without a normal scan or normal photo
The fact that going to extremes on the blue scale virtually changes nothing on the coin has been a warning in the past which I have allways heeded as a coin that needs other pics or an in hand evaluation

I see what you're saying, Ageka. It looks almost to pretty, eh? Those three small spots show up in every color range too. Interesting. The coin sold for $430, so if it does grade as a 63, someone got a great deal. I've dealt with this seller before and he isn't really helpful with additonal photos. Right now, he only is selling graded coins, where in the past he only sold raw coins.

If it only goes MS62 he paid 30% too much
If it goes MS63 he got a nice deal
I would not have played the oddss because techically the spots damage eye appeal slabbed or unslabbed
