Has anyone bought or sold to Provident Metals in Lavon, TX? Especially would like information on your experience if you have sold to them.

I sold to them back in December, mostly 40% halves and a scrap 14 karat piece. It took a Little longer than I expected for the check but they honored the quoted price.

I've never sold to them but I've bought from them a few times. Pretty good prices (never the highest, frequently close to the lowest) and pretty standard shipping
charges and time frames. Overall, I'd say they're about as good as online vendors usually get to be. Their telephone people are knowledgable, quick and courteous.

Thanks, all. One specific question. Has anyone ever sold truly junk coins - heavily environmentally damaged - they say they buy it but pay less (95.% spot), but that they sell it to people who reclaim it to sell as coins. That was interesting. I would love to locate those buyers.

I have no complaints with Provident.

I ordered 2 company-choice items and was please with their selections.

The first company-choice coin was a silver Ike. I received a 1974-S Ike proof.

The second company-choice coin was a commemorative. I received a 1987-S Constitution Bicentennial proof in great condition.

I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

My only complaint so far... I keep getting told to leave a message and someone will get back to me. Three such messages left in a week, and no call back.

They are offering to buy U.S. average to heavily circulated silver coins at $18.13 X face - more than melt and true junk at .95 silver. That's decent.
