So a trip to the bank with a relative to snag some documents out of the safe deposit box results in this... As my eyes light up both in surprise as I never knew this particular relative had any interest in coins, and also in sadness thinking of all those poor improperly stored coins, I inquire about the bag. Said relative informs me that she forgot about them, as she has no interest in them but were part of an estate that got broken up in our family before I was old enough to be aware of legal happenings in the family when a member passes. She kept them "just because". Long story short, she offered them to me since I will actually get some enjoyment out of it. I offered to compensate her, but in her words, to her they are "worthless"... although she was quick to throw in that if I profit from them she gets her cut I have been trying not to peek in the bag, as I want to explore/discover the contents tonight when I have time to take my time with it. I will update/post findings in this thread. Should be some neat things in there... my slight peeking through the bag for a moment shows quite a few halves and dollars, some foreign coins which I am going to guess have silver content (the person she got them from in the family was actually a collector), at least one coin I spied from the 1800's... so I am hopeful for good finds, but to me its already priceless... any great coins will just be icing on the cake

Very nice. I hope you not only find some interesting coins, but that you make a connection to long departed family member.

OK, just starting off before dinner... couldnt resist doing just a little bit. Seperating US and World coins first. Picked up a Kennedy that caught my eye. Looks like a reverse lamination error. Cool way to start Posted in the error section for second opinions, but here is a peek
