Hello all,

I have had an 1855 Half Dime with the aforementioned features, but wasn't sure if it was a noted variety, or just something usual. The clashing seems to be pretty typical, but the reverse has a crack (with multiple breaks throughout) extending from the rim @N (UNITED) and going all the way to the opposite rim @M (AMERICA). The breaks make for a neat looking F (HALF) and M (AMERICA). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I did the photo right, because this is my first photo post. THANKS!

Hello,

No matter what the coin or issue is at hand it always is advisable to upload both the obverse as well as the reverse.

Also higher magnification photos may prove to be helpful in clarifying this coin.

In the event you do not yet possess the type of photographic equipment to yield these type of photos, the following URL contains some tips and tricks for obtaining closeup shots using a USB camera for about $ 30:

Why thank you for the advice! I had some trouble uploading the one picture, but I will surely get better pictures soon. I do have some equipment to get pretty decent close ups, but not the greatest. I will provide those along with better full obverse and reverse pictures. Thank you for your time and guidance!

Not sure what help you are asking for, you have done a good job of identifying what you have already.

Thank you Robbudo! I just wish it were on a bigger piece of metal rather than a swilly little Half Dime! Still very nice though... can't complain.

Condor101: Thanks. I don't know the first thing about varieties of the Half Dime, and just wasn't sure if it was a noted variety, or if they aren't studied as much as other coins? I know what I have I suppose, but just not whether or not it IS anything noted before or even slightly more valuable.. any info I guess really. Sorry if I am asking a stupid question without even realizing it.

I will still try to get pics up soon. Thanks again for the help guys.
