I bought a lot of uncleaned (thank you Ben) which showed a silver fragment amongst the bronze.

This morning they arrived and within a plastic envelope there are three fragments of silver.

Can you id please?

Also, the coin is of no value, I had considered taking it to a local jeweller to have the fragments spot soldered. Not to repair the coin, but to keep the fragments together.

What would you suggest?

Thanks Marid, do you think it is a fake?

No pics yet, Very dirty, having a few soaks and shakes in some fairy platinum, it really shifts the initial dirt, before rinsing and going into dW. Found a couple that are not roman. Will do pics later.

Soldering will not work very well. In the few times I have had such a 'type' I used a lupe, a sewing needle and a tiny drop of super glue. If you are careful you might get it to look reasonably well. But then it will go into the "look don't touch" category.

I might give it a go FR. I am not in any hurry. It is a lovely thing, and if it were in one piece, I probably could not afford it!
