Randomly going through some of the old coins my uncle gave me a few years ago. He had some currency from a few other countries (I live in US), including Canada. I looked up the values on the older American coins and randomly typed in the Canadian 1953 nickel that was in his assorted coins. I was fascinated as I read through all of the varieties of the coin online.

I believe I have a 1953 SF, Far leaf example to share with you- I just wanted some expert opinions.
1. Is this one of the rare nickels?
2. What do you think the rating is on it? Chromium plating is still pretty much intact...
3. What's it worth? (and how can I sell it!)

Sorry . See http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1953-2013 The I in DEI is the best marker.

Haha. :) It looks like you two are correct-I'm definitely no expert. :) The whole SF vs NSF thing is confusing... I thought when I saw what looked like a "collar" on the shoulder that signified the shoulder fold, when actually the shoulder fold is an extra fold that makes it look like a "strap." At least that is the case on the 1953 nickel, I believe. Here is a reference I found that helps. The thing that I found misleading with the reference is that not even the collar fold is visible on the NSF coin in the image (top left). Looking at the "I" does help, as my "I" is more similar to the NSF than the SF. Thank you all for your help!
