I have won a lot of these, can anyone point me in the direction of a good online resource for research? Haven't a clue about them, but they look interesting.

Thanks. There didn't seem to be many on wildwinds, but I haven't really had a good look. forumancientcoins don't seem to have many either.
Any tips on cleaning. I have an ultrasonic cleaner for jewellery would that be any use?

Mmm, these types appear to be from the 12th - 13th Centuries. For a Free online resource, this seems to be a good intro: http://128.103.33.14/publications/d...byzcoins.pdfBut you can't go wrong with Sear's "Byzantine Coins & Their Values" Saw an old copy for sale on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...ndition=usedBooks like this seem a lot to fork out the £ for at first, but they provide a long term, reliable, reference that nothing else can better. eBook form is nice, as long as the Battery power lasts in the Reader! "Real book" can be read as long as there is light.

Was this Casa Di Roma? They had a load of Monogram lots I missed (darnit). It might have been another guy I won a couple of coins from (im aiming for a Main Collection target coin from 'im tomorrow, a Constantine II campgate from Heraclea. I've only got 2 SMHA and they arent common, so I've started adding SMHB,D,E and G. And at least 1 Crispus and 1 Constantius II).
Its an interesting lot. I've not got a nice scyphate. I wouldnt know where to start for IDing. For cleaning id give it a quick dip in distilled water, brush off the excess mud and then leave in DW for a while. Then an oil bath until completion.

hmmmmm...i don't think you'll find much to clean there, i'd just go dip and a brush up...maybe a little light pickin'. here's the google images results for "alexius iii trachy", which is what I suspect someo those are...once you know the reverse you can probably figure it out. http://www.google.com/search?q=alex...1680&bih=957

Masis, eek! Maybe father christmas might bring me one! Thank you for the links.
Ben, yes casa de wotsit. I bought a few lots, never held one, lets see if it floats my boat.
Chrsmat71 some of the other lots are dirtier than those in the pic. Thank you for the link.
Also picked up a couple of Getas, Trajans (Cvadrans Traianus), Zeno, Jovianus, Carausius, and a Gratian. Got another couple of bids in that end tomorrow. Apart from some I am hoping to get from Ben, that is going to have to be it now until next year, otherwise my trip to India is not going to happen!

Heads up, I couldnt find a single Zeno in his lots advertised as Zeno. I reckon you've bought an overpriced Marcian - post a picture, I didnt looka t all of them, just a couple.

When they are clipped and reduced in size as these appear to be they tend to be from the Latin Ruler period 1204-1261. They would use coins from earlier periods. I would need to see closer pictures of each coin but coin 1 & 6 look like Manuel, #2 might be Alexius. The others I can't be sure of without better pictures.
