First words in the first line of what it doesn't cover.

Please read it again, this is Third Party Shipping Insurance offered through ebay and has nothing to do with USPS which does indeed cover coins and bullion with its shipping insurance. With that said, ebay is not very bright to contract with a shipping insurance company that excludes significant sales categories

USPS paid off on a lost coin for me. It was a couple of years ago. I've always told my postman what the insurance was for and he never said anything about coins not being covered.

I also has a ebay seller ship a "sealed" mint sewn bag of 5000 cents. When I picked up the package it was in bad shape and had coins falling out of the poorly taped box.

The seam was open about 3 inches and the bad had holes where some kind of chemical had been spilled on the bag and coins were falling out there too.

I went back and looked at the photos on ebay and could see where the seller had folded the bag just right so it only looked a little discolored in spots.

The seller had to deal with the insurance, but he said he got his money back. With that seller, it could have been a lie too.

OK ,thanks for the correction. So when you're figuring postage in the ebay checkout the insurance you buy is third party, but if you print postage from the USPS website it covers coins?

Or in other words how do you get the good stuff using ebay checkout/shipping label printing?

I know USPS.com covers coins for sure, Id never even seen that ebay insurance. My guess would be a USPS label from ebay will be USPS insurance and that was some side cheaper insurance method but double check that. If the ebay labels dont cover it then USPS.com labels are the way to go for things that need it

There should be a drop-down box when you are using the ebay USPS shipping screen. I believe the default may be the 3rd party insurance, but one of the options is to use the USPS insurance.
