Good morning all. On Tuesday I received a call from 2 different charities in my area with regards to selling me the cents they have collected with their "Penny Drives". I was very happy to get the calls as I had just finished my last $25 bag of Canadian cents from the last charity pickup. I'm currently starting my 4th bag of the 11 bags ($275) of Canadian cents and I'm happy to see a fair amount of US cents mixed in. From the 4 bags I have searched thus far I have set aside aprox 20 - 25 rolls of US cents to check at a later date.
As I was searching the lot...I noticed something was a bit off on the Reverse of this coin so I decided to have a closer look. I believe it to be a 2006P-1DDR-009 from CC site. Not all the markers are present (missing 1) and most of the rest are very light and hard to see even under magnification. I had to use the light without any type of filter to get enough light on the die cracks to make them somewhat visible. Here is what I have. I will get a pic of the full coin later on Thursday as the camera battery died on me.
Columns:
Die Crack above the statue is not present from what I can see:
Die Crack on pillar #3:
Die Crack through lower right portion of the bust:
Die Crack on forehead (very hard to see in any light. This is the best I could get. I could not see it with the naked eye.):
Look forward to reading any replies. Thank you in advance. In hand...the coin has a lot of eye appeal.
Nice find. Looks like a match. These are kinda common here in the states, I think I have found a few dozen of this number.Great photos by the way. John1
Thank you John. Any time I find any listed DDO or DDR here in Canada...It is a score for me. LOL! I'm a Michigan native and US cents are my favorite. I'm always happy when I get US cents mixed in with my Canadian cent rolls.
