I just got this in the mail today so I have restored the date.
At first I was like, It's a nice 1882.

After I dried it off, I has me confused now

Hey people, you can post your thoughts as well.

I have it in a 2x2 without the date on it, making me
want to hurry and put the date down.

It is an 1882. Can't be an 1883/2, the date spacing is wrong. The 1883 date punch was noticeably wider than the 1882 punch.

It's a "filled 2." The bottom stroke can get a chunky appearance. De-focus your eyes and you can see the 2. Don't "look" at it; feel it!
