There seems to be a lot of stuff going on with this coin.

  • First, there is an incredible number of heavy die scratches on the obverse

  • Second, There is a lot of Machine Doubling going on all over the reverse, most impressively by the upper left corner of the Memorial

  • But, thirdly, mixed in with the reverse MD, on the words "ONE CENT" there seems to be a non-shelf-like separation, and slight-widening (almost like slits) going on with several of the letters.

Now, I realize this is just some form of MD I haven't seen before (because there's nothing like it on CC), so I was wondering if anyone else has come across this. I appreciate all your help and opinions

VLDS and the rev is MD. I have seen many like it. The mint most have used the dies for as long as they possibly could.
