Help me find out about this coin...my boyfriend is a Marine and aparantly some drunk down in Los Angeles gave it to him. I can't seem to find anything on it online.

It's a counterfeit coin. The guy who gave it to your boyfriend probably got drunk after finding out how badly he'd been ripped off buying it.

If I'm not mistaken, that is a counterfeit copy/replica coin. That is a rendition of the Liberty Seated dollar which was minted between 1840 and 1872? 1873? Somewhere around there. If my eyes are working this morning, you have a date of 1963 on that one.

I looked up the Liberty Seated dollar and it is exactly like this one. Pretty great fake! Feels like a real dollar. It's thick and has the same characteristics as US mint but as you can see in the picture, the circular shape is off.
