Just wanted to know if you guys collect Johnson Matthey fractional and commercial bars/rounds. I know there are many rare bars that are going for crazy premiums on ebay. Does anybody know where else to buy these pieces besides ebay? Also does anyone know of any other bars/rounds Johnson Matthey made besides these? I take it you are referring to silver only here? Had a neat BMO bank gold bar once upon a time. I can't justify holding on to any of these though seeing how much they fetch on ebay. My local dealer sees these bars come in every so often. Local is the only way, I'm afraid, to find these bars close to spot. See if you have any small silver/gold refiners in your neck of the woods. They might be able to sell you the odd bar that comes in for melt if they are not collectors themselves.

How much are the 5 gram bars worth? No fancy serial number.

The J-M 5 gram bars I have are numbered. About value--I think the later ones (J-M logo back) are only worth a couple dollars over spot if they're not in the original plastic packaging. The earliest ones (plain back; low #s) can be worth up to $20ish if they're still in the original plastic packaging. I don't think these get to be "big money items."

The cheapest JM 5 gram bars I've seen on ebay go between $10-$12 shipped. Those are usually the non-sealed ones with toning/scratches. I haven't really found a price difference between the JM logo reverse and plain back. The JM 5 gram bars that bring the crazy premiums are the collectors versions such as the Shipwreck and the koalagram bars if you can even find them listed.

Don't know much about this pick up I'm guessing this one came in a set with a gold 1oz round.

I know there are others that aren't on your list and in addition to the about Ag site as well.
There is a four bar set to commemorate the Apollo Missions, Spaceshuttle, Skylab, and Moon landing if I recall. It comes in a nice presentation box.
Also, I saw a 1oz JM bar that had a Citibank reverse once.
There are JMC varieties as well.
Nice finds though, I like the USA five gram with the heart and the oil rig.... classic.

Amaths, I checked out a few of your older posts regarding the JM bars/rounds you had picked up. I was just curious if you had seen any of those JM Visa elongated rounds or 2oz The Printing House bars forsale anywhere. You really had some great pickups too. Those pieces must really be rare because I cannot seem to find them anywhere.

Hi abliss, I really really wish I could find more of those as well. The most "common" ones that I have seen come and go from time to time are the 5, 10 and 20 oz, mint and poured. Even those seem to get dry. Or the dealers/collectors are waiting for the spot to go higher. Nice 5g bars you got there, not to mention six of them and all sealed! Any new pickups?
