Many of the ebay silver superman dont sell but my calculations tell me that the Shield is the 2nd hottest SILVER coin so far in terms of highest prices paid..and numbers sold.....The fact that the next RCM series is just around the corner doesn't mean anything... unless you are a Canada NCLT collector.... and my point is that this series appeals to non coin collectors and is a cross over series into some very popular areas of interest which will expand the demand for this coin over the long term. Superman is hot period and the demand from the USA collectors will eventually increase prices....Lenticular sets are already being listed for 65.00 [one listing] and selling at 50.00 [with shipping] so 100 is not really a big stretch

The gold Superman is already leveling off. The last 4 COMPLETED auctions range from $2211- $2393. Plus there are more listings today. A total of 18, compared to 5 or 6 a few days ago. People are receiving the coins and putting them on ebay; it is becoming more competitive. Why pay $3000 when you can get one for less than $2500.

I would say this coin has very little chance of ever coming close to $5000 as a few members here have suggested.

Didn't think superman fans would flock to overpriced coins. But, the 3-4 times I visited my local post office this past weekend, I've overheard people who are obviously not coin collectors, ask about the superman coins Every time. Chatting with my local dealer, he also saw customers for the superman coins he's never seen before.
I caved and bought a few. Even my two year old, barely able to tell batman from superman, seems to like the colourful coins (likely the packaging).
Props to my local dealer for still selling the gold $75 to me at issue price when he full well knows (and tells me straight up) that the coin is going for above $1500 at the time I picked it up.

Most good dealers do this - regular customers are treated well and in turn, those customers return to the coin shop or those dealer's tables at shows... some dealers I like enough I almost feel compelled to buy something from them.

Visited local PO this morning.
Well, three 1oz coins and 1/2oz coins still there. But no lenticular one. According to staff, someone bought all 5 that they had.
So looked again at the coins and got "Man of Steel" ...will keep it.

That lenticular set is pretty well done. I decided to buy one on the weekend. It was only $33-34. Figured why not the effects are nice in person. My PO was pretty much sold out as well and will not be getting more. In fact the guy told me they were pretty much sold out around the city. You might be able to find the 1/2oz around some places.

the Superman series coins will be popular from now on ...long after the ladybugs and dinosaurs have roamed the earth...prices will continue to increase and eventually most of the available coins will wind up in the hands of Superman collectors. The gold is a good buy at 2500. The rest of the series will double in value within 6 months. 5000 gold will become the norm.

Here is how the superman coin mintage should have went: Gold 2000 Hologram 5000 Shield 7500 MOS 10000 the others are ok at 15000 and what ever the 25 cent mintage is.
Well I know it is what it is but that's how I figure they should have done the mintage's seeing that there was 3 1 oz coins...all at 10000 mintage.

^^ I haven't seen a 1oz or 1/2oz silver coin in a long time from the mint that had a mintage under 7,000. it seems the lowest they are going is 7,500 now.

Last one I remember was the Grandma Moon Mask @ 6,000 and I think that one hasn't appreciated at all in the secondary market.

oh that's right. I bought that one to re-sell and I still have it. between that and the 2nd GITD coin, those were the nail in my 're-sell' coffin. Now I only buy 1x of whatever I like.
