I had assumed this was bronze, but it is actually marked filled gold. I found a silver medal that has the same design, but I haven't found anything like this.

Is anyone familiar with these? Any idea of value?

Per the books I have the medal you have ( gold ) were presented to women who attended the ball. They were not sold but only presented. So it is hard to get a value market on them. The silver same medal were presented to the men. Sorry I do not have the value of these. I guess its a collectors market and if one wants one they will pay to get it.
