I am definitely not an expert, so I won't grade your coin. That being said, the 1911D is THE key date in that series.

That alone may make it worth it to have it slabbed.

I'll say that there is a 60% chance that this is polished. I say 60% because the obverse seems fine but there is a good chance that the reverse is polished. As the guy before me said, this is THE key date so yeah, definitely worth getting certified.

I think it is at least a AU50, but I am not very good at grading gold.
