I have been looking at this particular 1883 No Cents Nickel with the possibility of being an upgrade to my "regular" one. The seller came up with some better images and I have not been able to nail down the variety.

Does anyone have any insight on the FS Variety? I recently purchased a set of the Cherry Pickers Guides (VOL I & II) but they have not arrived yet.

From what I can tell, the "1" was repunched/repositioned from the original, higher level, touching the neckline.

There are two Repunched Dates listed in the Fifth Edition Volume 1 and yours does not match the pictures or descriptions. IMHO
But, what is going on west of the one? This needs to be checked.

I am working on a deal with the seller. He says that these are the best the he can do with the photographic equipment in hand.

I see what you are talking about now (I think), maybe the top of another misplaced digit "1"? Talk about "tunnel vision"! I did not even see that "one".

Now I'm even more intrigued on this coin.

I asked the seller and he said that there is nothing protruding from the denticals. I will take some close-ups when I get her.
