I did a bit of reading/research before buying one. The price varies a lot by type, with the oldest, "archaic" style being the most expensive.
Detail/centering Athena affect prices, as do the presence of any test cuts. And naturally grade/surfaces figure a lot too.
I wanted one without test cuts, and at the time I found this coin to be a good compromise for USD $500. Most I liked were much higher.
Mine is 17.12 grams--full weight, some are notably less.
