Any help with these bills would be greatly appreciated. They are both in great condition - crisp original, no folds, no tears, no pin holes,... The 100 Markkaa note has staining in 2 of the corners - most likely from tape. Thanks for your help.

Is there anything that can be done to clean the tape stains from the corners?

The German 1000 mark note is fairly common and might get you $5-10.00.

The other note is from Estonia from 1922. It is a fairly scarce note and catalogs at $250.00 in VG and $500.00 in VF.

I would not try to remove the tape marks.

I'd grade both bills as uncirculated. What do the tape stains do to the value or grade of the bill from Estonia?

I finally decided to list the Estonia note on ebay. The Fixed price listing sold for $750 including the tape stains. I had talked with a paper conservator about having the stains removed and was told the cost would be over $250 per bill. Each bill has different ink and therefore would require different chemicals to remove the stains without effecting the bills ink. Too much trouble in my mind. I was happy with the sale and so was the European buyer.
