Did you read his feedback? His overall score is good, but the negs are mostly about these wheats. The banter isn't too bad and the story is pretty good. Who knows.

I'm not a fan of "unsearched" rolls on ebay no matter what. At $6 a roll, I think I'd take my chances at just buy them at the bank for face value. These could be unsearched by all means and full of wheats, but I can't really see paying $60 for mostly common dates which is what you'll probably end up with.

I dont think this is legit. If I was the owner I would be looking for the SVDB that other guy found and any more 09S's I could find instead of selling them for $6 a pop

The wrappers look way too fresh to be that old too. Even if they were kept in nice conditions that paper wouldn't stay that white.

"How did this get overlooked?"
The description even flaunts it!! Shameful.
Got a huge bucket full of crap wheaties? Buy a couple key dates/IHC/FEC?, a machine roller, and...

As a business, it is unbelievable to take a loss on valuable coins potentially being in the rolls versus searching them and then selling them anyway, honestly, for a profit based on what they actually are. I can't believe people buy these rolls...

I agree that the rolls look way too fresh to be original bank rolls. Looks like they got access to a rolling machine and hoot load of wheaties. I bought 3 rolls recently off ebay from a man claiming he didn,t have the time to search them before rolling. Well, after 3 rolls, I got we he guaranteed, 1 steel or IHC in each roll. Unsearched? How did he know the steels were buried in the middle? I don't know anymore either.

I find the whole unsearched thing to be a bag of hooey, honestly if someone was finding anything of value in these then why wouldn't you take the time to search them as one 09svdb would be worth more than all the rolls you sold. He had a crap load of wheaties from somewhere got a bank roller tossed the occasional indian in and then tried to sell them at a profit.

Quote: ***76,000+ Wheat Cents Bank Wrapped Rolls of Wheat Pennies*** This comes up so much there should be a separate forum called UNSEARCHED. Stop and THINK. How would anyone know what is inside a roll of coins unless they were opened and SEARCHED. If I said to you I have 5 Nickels in my pocket and I never looked at them but they are all 2005P dates. How would I really know unless I looked. My car gets 50 miles to the gallon but I never checked the milage. Would you belive me? UNSEARCHED piles, rolls, cans, etc. of coins is possibly one of the stupidest things people say on ebay. Not sure if my (Aunt, Mom, Granddad, etc.) passed away and left me with all these coins and I know nothing about them. This too ranks way up there with UNSEARCHED.

Just another twist on the good, old ebay "unsearched" theme.

A very interesting twist on the old idea is for no other reason than how the heck did they get a hold of that many unused String & Son wrappers. I highly doubt they just let them go. Also of note is how many rolls they have sold: 3,790 at 60 bucks a pop is pretty crazy
