Ike-Dollar-On-UK-Neil-Armstrong-Memorial-Coin-Cover

Seems I got on the Westminster Collection's email list since I have purchased the UK £5 at face value from them.

Their latest offering the above coin cover which has an Silver Ike dollar and some space stamps on an envelope with a picture of Neil Armstrong.

I am not going to get one, since £78.99 is alot of money for this item.

Just thought some of you folks in the US would be interested in seeing this presentation of an Ike dollar.

I did think of you when I saw it.

I also don't understand what they listed about the Ike dollar - Diameter: 38.1mm, Weight: 22.68g, Metal: Clad with .800 Silver

Since from http://www.coincommunity.com/us_dol...senhower.asp

Circulation Strike Content: Cladding: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel, Core: 100% Copper
40% Silver Content: Cladding: 80% Silver, 20% Copper, Core: 79% Copper, 21% Silver
Circulation Strike Weight: 22.7 grams
40% Silver Weight: 24.6 grams

Also the picture of the Ike dollar appears to be a 1972-D.....which I thought the silver ones were made as Proofs with an S mint mark.

You are correct and should have concern. I believe they messed up the specs or the photo or both.

I contacted them via their web site.

No reply from them but they have changed the page.

Diameter: 38.1mm, Weight: 24.59g, Metal: Clad with .400 Silver

and they now show a 1972 S coin.

Still not buying one.

They did reply to my email, after they changed the page.

Thank you for contacting us with your enquiry.

Following your correspondence, may I firstly thank you for contacting
us in regards to the product specification error on our webpage
offering the Neil Armstrong Memorial Coin Cover.

It appears that the product specifications and images used were
previously incorrect and these have now been updated to reflect the
correct information. The correct and updated specifications for the
coin are as follows:

Diameter: 38.1mm, Weight: 24.59g, Metal: Clad with .400 Silver

Further to this, it is a Silver Clad Dollar struck at San Francisco
Mint and this is denoted by the 'S' on the obverse.

In addition, the coins included with the item have always been that
with the specifications provided above. Therefore, each customer has
received the correct coin, although the information on our website was
previously incorrect.

May I again thank you for your comments regarding the matter and I
hope this answers your enquiry. However, if you need any further
information, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone, post or
via email at http://www.westminstercollection.com/contact

Yours sincerely

While I feel that the item is still overpriced, at least the page now has correct information on it.
