Hello. I got recently this Czechoslovakia 1951 1 Koruna aluminum coin. Coin appears to be in uncirculated condition to me but the surface is damaged on one side. Is it mint error or something else?
Thanks in advance.
Nick

My best guess would be a strike-through.
Something thin and pliable got between the die and the planchet when the coin was struck.

I think I see some rough parallel lines on the right side of the coin. If so, that would indicate a planchet lamination. A lamination is a flaw in the metal caused by slag impurities or improperly mixed alloy.

It looks as if it could be a pre-strike lamination. Can you add a picture of the other side?
