If all looks good for the march show in Baltimore, minus conflicts, I will be there. I plan of setting up there, and I will probably get 4 tables since I plan to bring a lot of coins, main proofs singles from 1970 to present. My son and I have about 750-1000 proof singles and a decent amount of other coins. All together we will probably bring between 1500-3000 coins.
I Just mailed off my Package to ANACS. I sent them nineteen 1972-S
DDO #3's and one 1970-S Proof
DDO Large Date over Small Date. I picked the best 19 out of 42 1972
DDO #3's and most should come back as MS65 or better. The 1970-S
DDO Large Date/Small Date is in great shape, and I am hoping for a PF-66 or better on that one.
I just purchased another 52 proof sets and I am going to go through those in November. From there we will be buying Silver Commemoratives,
Morgan dollars and a few other coins.
I don't care for any of the Zinc Cents what so ever. I don't like the risk, so I will remain within the realm of Copper.
DDO's are nice, don't get me wrong, but in this economy people tend to stick to gold and silver a lot. They tend to buy a lot of low to medium dollar coins, anywhere from a buck to 30-40. We concentrate for all levels of the collector, but honestly, the cash comes from the $5-45 per item sales. We get tons of those. We might get a half dozen sales on items that cost over $250 each. So though
DDO's help out the business owner, they probably will sit in a shop, or shopping cart for some time.
I think this coming year the son and I will focus on RPM's, Proof coins, Morgans, and a Handful of different copper
DDO's. I like searching for the
DDO's so I may end up just buying bags instead of making major purchases of pre-graded coins. Those are low on the list right now, as the son and I are still sorting through the proofs, inventorying, grading, labeling and slabbing them all.
