Are those the paper squares with the plastic window? I've had really bad luck with paper in the past...are there any other options?

the second link you showed from Amazon is pages to hold the 2x2 square flips with the windows. I would not buy those brand as I have bought them before and the 2x2 just fall out if you tip the page over. they are junk. The first link is a tube that some 1oz bullion coins are shipped in when you buy a whole tube. I'm not sure where you could get on of those but maybe some bullion sites like APMEX or something. 2x2 flips are the safest place for coins IMO...what trouble were you having with them before? you can get boxes that hold 2x2 flips like this one http://colonialacres.com/products.p...3740&ref=471http://colonialacres.com/products.p...3739&ref=471

I'm interested in buying the silver proof quarter rolls off ebay, so I want a compact way to store them where they don't rub together and won't take too much space. The pages look perfect for me, two pages per roll. The bad luck I had with paper was my comic and baseball card collection from the 80's. They look terrible, the paper basically disintegrated, and there's tons of browning and spots, both on the items and acid-free boards that were supposed to protect them, even though they were properly stored and unopened for 30 years.

I would be extremely careful putting proof quarters in plastic pages. If its the wrong type of plastic and has any pvc in it, it will ruin your coins. Look up on this site the effects of plastic against coins...its scary

My personally believe that Silver Proof Quarter rolls (assuming they are from 2000 and latter) are not worth your time and money to put them into individual capsule for storage as they don't have numismatic value appreciation as compare to silver proof coins of the 50s and earlier because they are made in large quantities (half a million and more per year/design). If you are really into them then I strongly suggest you do more research in them, their historical appreciation pattern before investing money, time, and efforts into them. Don't get me wrong, they do appreciate/follow precious metal (ie: silver) price and they do command a premium over silver content's value - in another word, their price/value are more dependant of silver spot price more than numismatic value. There is a solution to your problem but it's EXPENSIVE if you are considering doing this to individual coin by the roll. It's called airtite capsule and airtite tube. Each capsule cost around $.50 to $1 (depend on quantities and sellers), each tube cost about $2 to $4 and hold 20 capsules. So you are looking at about $30 cost to store a tube of proof quarter (assuming they are 40 coins in a quarter tube)..... that equate to about 15% of their value. That's too expensive for me. Anyways, here are some link to those airtite supplies: http://www.air-tites.com/ <======= Retailer, price may be cheaper than from the maker though. http://www.airtiteholders.com/ <===== Direct source, from the maker of the product.

Btw, why not just store them in their tubes? If you pack them tight enough together then cap the end, add a few loop of tape to seal the seam.... I don't see there are any problem with that.
You are trying to eliminate any movement between them.... no movement ===> no rubbing.

Yeah, I'm hoping for something cheaper than airtites, thanks though.
I have a plastic tube for my junk quarters, and they bang each other.

Don't use individual paper packets. The problem is that the paper is bleached with with chlorine, and this WILL affect any coin. I understand the problem with the comics. They are printed on bleached paper, and so the paper will self destruct over a period of decades. For bulk storage of proof coins airtight capsules in tubes would be the best way to go. The other alternative is Mylar 2x2's in non PVC archival quality album pages.
