I just received my first CC from ebay today. Please help. Looking for a grade and need to make sure that I didn't pick up a fake. Thanks for the help.

I would suggest you go over to VAMworld and compare yours to VAM7 and the variety not assigned. Both are far date positions as yours appears. You should, I believe, have a "spitting eagle" variety based on the date position.

The only problem is that there is no metal in front of the Eagles mouth. And it looks to me like it has a golden tint. It's not magnetic. My scale puts it at 26g. Mine only goes to even grams though. I'm just worried because I bought it cheap by most people's standards but a little costly for my budget.

I will say the reverse has an "unusual" wear pattern for my liking. I would say if you are not comfortable with it return it for a refund.

She has an awesome Macro lens. The Obverse does not look that harsh in hand.

I can handle a cleaned coin, but not a fake.

Oh I know that it is an awesome deal as long as it is real. That's my only fear is that it was too good of a deal. The good luck isn't with me very often.

How often do you get such a golden tone to them. And predominatly on the raised surfaces vs the background?

Your new pictures lead me to believe the coin is a fake. The 9 in the date is completely wrong.

And what about the harsh crack near the R on the obverse? I'm still new to Morgan's as I'm too cheap to buy the nicer ones. I usually stick to the worn dimes and V nickels. Morgan's have always been one of my favorites though.
