beware fake spiderman coins

http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-Years-An...em2a43d7b07f

these are probably Chinese in origin and are typical of the fakes being produced in practically every popular modern nclt coin design...and you know there will be a lot of buyers who will think they are buying the original and a lot of sellers who will try to pass them off as original ...at least in this case the seller is honest about the coin

I am brand new to this hobby, more of a general collector of Marvwel/Sci-Fi. Having done some research in to the Spiderman coin, I'm not impressed by it at all. I see it on e-bay with full certificate etc. for only $79. A Stan Lee auto is worth more than that, plus the $17 or so of silver involved, makes it all too good to be true. Then I found this (20140630) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed/popular/spiderman-coin.html I really hope no one has got burned here.

im happy to report that APMEX has finally sold out of the boxed spider man coins..they do have certified MS69 coins only..this is a great development for the investors in spider man coins with an original mintage of only 5000...if u can get an MS70 certified one it is worth a premium and on ebay they are fetching up to 150usd..the complete kits are fetching 139usd..for the Canadian seller it is a big increase in price due to the low CAD$..ie I paid 100cad originally at par and now I can get 175CAD...so I might be tempted to put a couple on ebay finally! The price for the certified MS69 is low so if u decide to get certified you better double check for quality or you are better off just selling the complete kit as is....and as my previous post ..the market is, of course, full of chinese fakes so buyer beware!
