Quote: So here is a new thread dedicated only to foreign coins/tokens found in coin rolls... I wonder why it took so long for someone to start this.

Today, I found this coin in a roll of U.S. dimes. 1941 Dutch East Indies 1/4 gulden After doing a little research, I learned that this coin was minted in Philadelphia. It also contains .0736 of an ounce of silver, so there's a small bonus that goes with this find.

Canadians for me mostly! Also a Bermuda penny, Bahamas penny, 1950 German Pfennig, and a few Euros. My oldest foreign CRH find is a 1939 King George VI penny!

Pulled a 1971 Mexican peso from a roll of halves, but I didn't mind -- also included a 64 and over 40 40% in those 9 rolls.

What the heck?!?!?! I just found the same exact coin at the coinstar two weeks ago! I have several Canadian silver dimes and quarters. Other than a British silver shilling, this is the only other foreign coin that I've found that has silver in it.

My best is an 1892 Pfennig. Found with pennies. Otherwise all just Canadian stuff.

My friend had found an Ecuadorian 5 centavo coin as a nickel a while back.
It is pegged to the U.S. dollar, so I guess nobody is making any profit by circulating it here... I also recently found an Ecuadorian 1 and 10-centavo coin in a junk box.
50 centavo and 1 sucre (dollar) coins exist, but they are difficult to track down! I'm sure someone's found one in a box of Kennedys, though.

Dug through some nickel rolls - out came a Belize 5 cent coin (2009)! With the Queen and "5 CENTS", it is pretty easy for it to pass as a nickel, despite its smaller size and aluminum composition. Belize is a small Central American nation with a population of just 334,297, so it is pretty interesting to find one of its coins all the way in Canada.

Due to the sheer volume of coins I search, I am always finding foreign coins - pretty much on a daily basis as long as I am searching that day (which is almost every day), but I actually found a pretty good one this morning. 1933 10 Haleru coin.

From Czechoslovakia? That's a remarkably interesting find... who knows, maybe it was spent in the 40s by a recent immigrant!

Yes. Czechoslovakian. I am working through 3 full bags of pennies from coin counter - they are likely from the 90's. copper percent is on the order of 50% or so. Three full bags of this and there are two more at bank that I will get Tuesday. Above average quality and quantity of wheats.
Found several 60's era canadian cents too. This Czech coin is cool though
