hey guys just wondering but inset a 1917 farthing suppose to be dull and brown not shiny and bronze. here are some pictures

1917 was the last year that The Royal Mint artificially darkened farthings with sodium thiosuphate to distinguish them more easily from gold half sovereigns.
It was from about 1917 that the half sovereign was called in from circulation.

There is also a darkened issue of 1918.
Your 1917 farthing looks like a cleaned,darkened version.
There were a few bright finished farthings that slipped the net.
These are as follows;
1897,1901 & 1904.
The 20C one's rarer.
