Hey Jim, Definitely counterfeits at those weights. They should weigh in th Standard Dollar range because that is what they purport to be (7 Mace and 2 Candareens = Dollar). The dollar varied in total weight because of different alloys but typical raw weight were in the 27.1 to 25.7 gram range. The size might lend you to suspect that one of them may be a Tael but those are heavier averaging 35 grams.

They are likely white metal (pot metal) with a decent percentage of zinc.

Hey Bob I will send them to you for further study if you are interested. Also as I study them, they do with out a doubt look to be counterfeits to me as well they appear to have been made using a ring die as per the rim. it appears to be exactly like a the coin you have shown me in the past, also the soft porous details in the fields and near the rim the devices are also very soft . Also it looks a lot like Munz metal or pot metal like you said.

Thank you everyone for you comments and feedback
