Hi,

I recently bought this coin at an auction. It seems to be a very large version of a 1914, Yuan Shih-Kai. Large Silver Dollar (1 Yuan). It weighs 166 grams and measures 88mm across.

Has anyone ever come across something like this and also do you know if it is silver or not judging from the weight and diameter?

It claims to be a "ten yuan" or 10 dollar coin, issued in year 3 of the Republic (1914). However, it is lying. No such giant coin was ever made, or even contemplated by the Chinese government at the time. It is a fantasy. It is almost certainly not silver; very few of the "fantasy" coins you can get from China are.
