A guy with zero feedback buys a Trade dollar. Claims he didn't get it despite USPS tracking saying it was delivered. He contacts me via my personal email rather than through ebay saying he is going to dispute with visa to get his money back, despite the fact that I only accept paypal. Is this possible? Anything I can do?

The tracking alone should cover you. If I remember right, the personal contact is a no-no. It might take abit, but I believe you're covered.

Report him to ebay, report him to PayPal too. I'd block his ebay handle as well. Feel free to share it so the rest of us can block it too. Most of the time people like that are just bluffing hoping you'll give them their money back but it's not worth giving them the chance to do it again. The tracking though should cover you. The one thing that could be a problem is if it's over 200 dollars I think ebay makes you do signature confirmation for the seller protection, but still even without that the tracking is pretty damaging to his claim.

Well I reported him to both ebay and paypal and also sent the correspondence from him to the spoof@paypal.com email that Paypal gave me. Anyhow his name is Rick Hervey & his ebay account is tonejunky2013 The thing is that I would have probably given him a refund if it was under say $30 but it was a Trade dollar he bought for about $130. His emails are very cordial and nice but the zero feedback and the fact that the very first package he bought from ebay got lost is a bit too much of a coincidence for me.

Its also quite strange that he would go straight to his credit card company instead of opening a claim with ebay.

does not matter. would you like to hear from the other side ie buyer?
well I bought something with usps tracking and on the day is should have been delivered I checked the tracking and it said it was delivered so I checked my mail box it was not in there even though it said delivered. so I called the post office and asked what was going on and I was told that they mark it delivered right as they get it not when it gets to the mailbox. I got it a couple of days later.

Paypal is linked to bank account and can also be linked to a credit card. I would guess the buyer doesn't see a chance of fighting Paypal himself, so he'll let his credit card company do battle. Visa's claim will be against Paypal, not you.

also, the issue with tracking numbers. I have seen this on the stamp side. Some big sellers would issue fake tracking numbers, to get around ebay's requirement for tracking on big ticket items. The stamps would come by regular mail instead.

I think your post office is violating their own rules then. Mine does not scan it until it is being put into the mailbox and I've seen them do it plenty of times. That is what they are supposed to do. So your post office folks are being lazy and wrong!
