Seems that my early ASEs have a totally different appearance (1986 and 1987 in particular) than the other mintage years. They look to have a more "dished" appearance...sort of like circulation coins of the past, whereas the more recent ones look far more "flat" . Did the manufacturing process change at some point in the 80s?

You made me look at my set and there does seem to be a difference as time went on. It looks to me that liberty had a breast reduction in 1993 and the overall coin seems to have a crisper more detailed look after then.
