Hi I'm new to this forum, I am posting because I need help IDing a coin my aunt gave me, she knows nothing about it so any sort of help is greatly appreciated.

From what I can tell it is a GOLD coin because of the color and weight.

It features a CHARRIOT with a man lifting up his sword and he is being carried by 3 horses. Above there is a sort of angel flying which is not very visible but I've seen it before on other coins. These scenes are very common on roman or greek coins from what I've seen.

The other side is where it gets tricky, it seems as if it were two men wrestling or grabbing each other by their hands. I wasnt able to find this anywhere or where to even look.

Anything that I can learn about it is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Sadly this is a fantasy piece and not a real coin. It looks like it has a gold color wash over either bronze or copper.

Yes, sadly, your coin is not a genuine ancient coin. The designs are taken from two different coins, neither of which are gold, from two different cities.

The chariot with the "angel" (actually the goddess Nike/Victory) was, as you have noted, used on the coinage of several Greek city-states, such as Syracuse and Gela. The wrestlers are taken from the coinage of Aspendos, which did not use chariots on its coins.

Sadly, it's probably not solid gold, either. It looks typical of the kinds of coins sold to tourists in the street-markets of Greece, Turkey etc.
