Today I found out that I won't be getting the 1921 Canadian quarter I won two weeks ago on ebay. After waiting for it patiently to show up in my mailbox I finally contacted the seller, who informed me that he had mistakenly listed the same coin twice. I checked prior sales on ebay and found he wasn't lying; he had sold the same quarter back in September for $6.50 (I had supposedly won it for $10 more).

The seller has agreed to refund my money but I'm not feeling totally ok with the deal. That coin would have filled one of my last remaining holes (I still do need a 1953 SF, the 1973 Large Bust and a 2010, plus any one George V and George VI coin with a nice obverse to fill my 'obverse' holes).

Now back to the hunt!!

You waited two weeks for your item, then you had to contact the seller to find out that he has never shipped it, and had previously sold it. The seller should have let you known this within a day or two of the auction ending not two weeks later. Not the kind of ebay seller I would want to purchase from. Sorry about your bad experience.

I had a similar experience with the item not being for sale.
It left a bad taste in my mouth and he refunded my money right away.
Are the large bust (quarters) in demand or are they stagnant.I have a few
to get rid of when demand picks up.

wireman09: Yes, that is why I'm still grumbling about it inside. I wonder if the seller EVER would have contacted me if I didn't complain to him first. Needless to say, he is not getting any more offers from me. Not sure if I will be able to leave feedback but if I can; it won't be nice.

secoinedchance: Thank you for your concern. I haven't been on here too long so I don't know about the PM yet, but I'll try to look for it.

billfrak: I've never bothered yet to track sales of the '73LB because I knew going in that it is way above my budget level. There are several 'modern' coins that I figure on never getting in my life unless through some amazing stroke of luck (like winning the lottery). I'm still hoping to find one in my change one day. I must be a dreamer!!
