Hey, I have three of these coins, and I'm assuming they are not real, but I figure it doesn't hurt to double check. One of them has the date kind of worn down and it doesn't appear to be another metal below, but I'm no good at judging these. My father wanted me to check. He, of course, believes they are :)
Unfortunately they are not genuine or gold, sorry. Design details are different, likely to avoid being in trouble for counterfeiting existing US coins.
Below is a group of 10 California Gold tokens. All are made of gold ranging from about 9K to 22k. None are "genuine CA gold tokens though two are listed in the book, California Pioneer Fractional Gold by Breen Gillio.
