George II 1816 shilling - the first year of the new coinage, and the first year shillings had been issued for circulation since 1787! This was another metal detector find, in parkland surrounding a former country house that had been demolished and was being redeveloped for a new housing estate.

This is my only 1815 coin - a worn French 1-decime of Louis XVIII (Strasbourg Mint). Somehow I'm not expecting anyone to post a Large Cent today!
