I was looking at the auctions of ancient coins on ebay and then I saw this nice siglos mint of the Persian empire. It is in a very good condition for Achaemenid coins, a lot better than the one I already own and, of course, for a very good price! The advantage of French (and spanish) sellers is that they dont use english descriptions so you need te be lucky in finding such coins, you cant just search on names. Diameter: 15mm Weight: 5,54 grams - which means its minted in the following period: 475 - 450 BC

A fine specimen Dutch. Not as great as some but certainly far better tham most. These are very old coins with history just oozing out of them.

Dutch, that is a beautiful coin.
AN, really like yours also. I have been in the market for one of those for quite some time now. :)

Dutch- Just wanted you to know I think that siglos is extraordinary, mine is 5.51 grams 17 mm struck 485-480 BC at Susa, Iran. ref:Carradice Type IIIa (pl. XI, 14); Carradice, "Two Achaemenid Hoards" in NumChron 1998, 136-137 I believe yours to be of the same period. Although I am not an expert on these. All I do know is yours is better than mine.
