My family owns 9 Gold Olympic Commemorative Medals from the Innsbruck Olympics in 1964. Each are approx 26 mm and gold. We were offered a little over $5K for the scrap value. Does anyone out there know if there is a different collectible value than just the scrap value? We would like to sell them but hate the thought of them being melted down.

These would definitely be worth more than scrap! I'll leave it to the experts to get into more detail.
