Hello folks.

I finally decided to submit 3 of my 1913/1914 gold coins to PCGS. I was hoping to keep them in the RCM capsules, but the darn stickers are trying to come off every time I try to have a look at the coins. Anyway, I have some questions for all you experts:

1) Is it a good idea to go via a rep., or to become a member and submit directly? I mean which option is cheaper/faster? My biggest concern about submitting them directly is that of paying tax (yet again) when receiving my graded coins -- I already paid once when buying these coins, although I might not have all the receipts as some were bought from ebay.

2) If the dealer route is better, who do you recommend? Which of them have you used previously, and what are your experiences with them? How long does it usually take? What are the average costs per coin?

Sorry, I know, a lot of questions, and I might think of some more, so I apologize in advance, and thanks for reading.

PS. The forum search feature didn't really help re. these questions; oh, and I know about this list: http://www.pcgs.com/dealers/default...2&mn=1&cc=CA

I am trying to convince Toronto's newest dealer, Metro Coin & Banknotes, to become a PCGS agent. Maybe I'll bug him again in a month or so, once he gets his store fully operational.

you wont pay any taxes when you get them back. When I submit coins to NGC, they declare that they belong to you and are simply returning them. CRA cannot re-tax you on something you already own.

Oh and you can send them through Canadian Coin & Currency. I talked to Alfredo 2 weeks ago and he said they send coins to PCGS on behalf of customers.

Thanks guys, since CC&C is so far away from me, I will probably become a member and send directly then. Also, thanks for the heads up on the new store, SPP.
