Anyone got any idea what these are? I can't find anything on them in the catalogs or anywhere else

These are Chinese banknotes issued by private banks. These appear to be remainders that we're not given serial numbers and not actually issued to the public. They are one of my favorite types to collect as they are rich in illustration of traditional daily life, and also have a lot of folklore as well.

Right now the prices vary a bit online due to their scarceness and unfamiliarity in the western markets. The most I've paid is $35.00 USD for one. Most were about 15.00 - 25.00 but I think those days are mostly gone now. The super high prices (over $100+) are just hopeful sellers. The few I've tracked never sell that high.
