Anybody know what criteria is used in determining the amount of coinage (actual mintage ) for each year.What determines the amount of strikes per denomination? What determines the need for coinage of any given year?

For circulation issues basically. For commem issues/proof issues just max profit, a combination of rarity and price (Meaning if they mint too many they won't sell and if they price it too high it won't sell.
