I reported this coin as a fake. I don't believe the 93-S had a near date.

No, it didn't. Only one obverse was used, and it was a Far Date. Good catch.

I reported it, too. The dentil below the 1 in the date is left of center. This diagnostic once helped me spot another counterfeit ... an original 1893 that had an added S mintmark.
