Can anyone tell me what this is all about? It says "FAREWELL to the £.S.D. SYSTEM". 10 coin set:

Half Crown 1967
Crown 1965
Florin 1966
Eng Shilling 1966
Scottish Shilling 1966
Halfpenny 1966
Threepense 1967
Farthing 1954
Sixpense 1966
Penny 1966

All coins are UC with beautiful luster, MS-60-MS68, very proof like if not proof....I don't know anything about foreign coins.

Thanks

A pound had 20 shillings and a shilling 12 pence and the small change would rip your pocket out by sheer weight when I visited the UK

I guess that now since they are on a decimal system they said goodbye to their ole system like a lot of euro countries are saying goodbye to their old money now that they are on the euro ( like the ultimate french frank )

These coins are older than that, long before the change to Euros, check out my edit. There's one similar on ebay:

Wondering what the individual values are on these since they really are beautiful coins inside the holder.

This would be the "Hello" to the decimal system set.

G'day BadThad, your coin set is the last, or near-to-last of each of the commonly circulating denominations of coinage used in the United Kingdom before conversion to decimal currency.
The "pound" remained the basic unit of currency. Pre-conversion, a pound was divided into 240 pence, or pennies ("d"). Post-conversion, one pound equalled 100 New Pence ("p"). Since then, I don't know when, the "new" has been dropped from "New Pence".
The set you have would ve a useful addition to any collection of UK coins.

That's interesting chrycopaul. So these are coins minted before the change to the decimal system. Since I know nothing about foreign coins, are these considered proofs or uncirculated? Are they worth anything?

They would have been uncirculated. These booklets can be picked up for a couple of dollars.

Note that chrycopaul's set is an official mint set issued by The Royal Mint. The £sd set with mixed dates would have been privately issued.

The word "New" was dropped from the coins in 1982.

OK, thanks guys.

Guess I'll just stash this thing away if it's only worth "a couple bucks". Maybe it'll be worth more in 20 years.

OH....so there is a glimmer of hope! LOL

Since nobody seems to know the values, I guess I'll check around Heritage or something....unless someone has a better idea.
