I am looking up a Prince Edward Island halfpenny token. In the Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Colonial Tokens by W.K. Cross, I'm looking at the Ships Colonies and Commerce Tokens. The variety I think I have is the PE10-33 1835H. The description for the obverse says there's a die-cut on unfurled mizzen-sail. I can identify the mizzen sail but I'm not sure what they mean by die-cut. Does it mean die-gouge? Thanks! Tracy

I'm only a decade or so late on the reply but I had the same question. I found the answer on Saskatoon Coin Club website. They have a fantastic site with lots of photos. On this token the die cut referred to is a die crack that protrudes from the right side of the missen-sail. If there is nothing jutting out it is PE-10-27.
